Okinawa, Japan has an alarming rate of homeless animals. The rate at which Animal Control kills these animals is even more alarming. This problem in Okinawa is immense, due partly to the abandonment of pets by military personnel and civilians. Okinawa has one tenth of the amount of homeless animals that Tokyo does. However, the number of animals that are put to sleep in Okinawa is three times more than that of Tokyo. Japan is greatly behind the United States and European Countries on the subject of Animal Welfare. Living in Okinawa can be a tragedy of the heart for animal lovers and even more of a tragedy for the animals.

The volunteers of the Okinawan American Animal Rescue Society will be heading to Courteny and bringing with them many wonderful pups and kitties. So on June 28th we would love to see you between the new car sales and the post office fields. Come down and meet all our furry friends for a little animal therapy. Can't have pets where you live? there are so many other ways to enjoy their company. Bring a dog to the beach for the day, sponsor a grooming session or kit them out with the coolest kitty toys. We'll be there from 10am until 1pm so do drop by. Look forward to seeing you there!

Swing by the Courteny exchange this Saturday May 3rd to meet our wonderful furry friends searching fro their forever homes. Aren't able to commit to full time pet ownership but are an animal lover? become a foster parent and help a special animal in their transition to their forever homes
